But so disappointed to miss joining our city Monday in celebrating the life of a Red McCombs. I definitely will be thinking about my great friend and praying for his dear family.

We have lost a great-hearted Citizen of San Antonio: my precious friend, Red McCombs.
Red was one of my first and most ardent supporters when I finally had the opportunity to focus on my life mission to serve as a judge.
But Red was so much more than a political supporter. He was a dear friend. He stood with me in good and bad. He gave me great advice. He supported my public and private hopes and dreams. And he even cared deeply and was so proud of my children.
Red cared about every single person in San Antonio, not just the rich and powerful. He wanted to create opportunity for every single part of our city. And he did.
I miss him already. Deepest, deepest condolences to the McCombs family.

Why support PEARLS Foundation? Because the teens we serve are making the strong work of healing from past trauma. As of the 2021-23 school year, 134 Teens have been part of PEARLS and EAGLES Courts. In 2021-22, 43 PEARLS/EAGLES Teens actively participated. 100% of the Teens eligible to graduate were able to graduate and 90% were promoted to the next grade level. And 75% of the PEARLS/EAGLES Graduates who enrolled in college successfully completed their first year. That's AMAZING success for these HEROIC Teens.
